High Voltage Electrical Inspector
MacKay Sposito is seeking a full-time High Voltage Electrical Inspector to join our team and support a high-profile hatchery upgrade project in Lewiston, ID. This is an excellent opportunity for electrical construction experience or experience in related engineering fields, including electrical and civil. You must be comfortable with navigating and understanding project specifications and blueprints/drawings.
Project Description: Hatchery Facility Construction
Ideal candidates will be excellent communicators and have excellent computer skills. This position performs physical on-site observation, documentation, and inspection of electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects to assess and ensure compliance with applicable project plans, specifications, codes and regulations. Non-compliant items discovered during inspection are communicated to contractors in real time. This position also requires routine communication of project information to clients, regulatory agencies, peers, and managers.
Keys to Success:
- Perform daily site inspections to verify workmanship and material compliance
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Document construction progress through detailed reports and photo logs
- Identify non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with the construction team
- Verify installation of structural, mechanical, and civil components meets quality standards
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project owners
- Maintain quality assurance records and assist in preparing turnover packages
Qualifications:
- QA/QC experience in construction, preferably with infrastructure or facility projects
- Strong knowledge of building codes, specifications, and industry standards
- Experience with civil, structural, and mechanical systems (e.g., tanks, piping, pumps)
- Proficient in documentation, report writing, and inspection protocols
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with fish hatchery, wastewater treatment, or environmental projects a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site daily

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.
The wage range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr, depending on experience and placement in an Electrical Construction Inspector 1-5, dictated by client needs/requirements.
